Working the land was something I had become so acquainted with that my past life seemed alien to me.  Who I was now became the identity I most closely associated with.  This in of itself was confusing.

It was mid-day when Laban came riding up to Jacob’s camp.  He had his sons with him and his lead men.  Earlier the previous evening he made camp a short distance away.  The night had been long and tense.

We rode as fast as we could ride.  I thought our horses would die.  In one of our forced stops for water Jared came to me.  He was tired, as we all were.  It seemed like a never ending battle dealing with the past.
